Today we want to tell you about a hidden Savannah gem that has been entertaining children and adults for years. Angela Beasley’s Puppet People take inspiration from Savannah’s unique cast of characters to create puppet shows with Savannah-themed stories. The show has been featured on television shows including the CBS Early Show, NBC Today Show and Comedy Central. From “Paula Queen” to Nathanael Greene, Angela’s shows share distinctive bits about our incredible city.
Her latest show premiered recently and introduces our very own Juliette Gordon Low, or “J.Low” as she is called in the show. Juliette Gordon Low founded the Girl Scouts of America, but that’s not all she did. Join the Puppet People as they retell the completely-true life story of Savannah’s own J.Low. Her life was so big, that Angela needed a whole crew of local musicians, artists, writers, sculptors, storytellers and singers to tell it.
This one and a half hour show is open to the public for several dates throughout the summer including July 5, July 14 and August 18. With music, laughter, adventure and stories you need to hear to believe, you’ll be fascinated and equally entertained. Tickets for the show are $22, which also includes a backstage pass and free badge. Please visit puppetpeople.com for more information.
