With the year 2020 on the horizon, you’ll want to make sure you have your plans to ring in the New Year squared away. Savannah certainly has its fair share of New Year’s Eve events, making it the perfect city for you to spend your final day of 2019. To make your planning a little easier, we’ve put together this guide to help you celebrate the beginning of the new year – Savannah style!

City Market New Year’s Eve Celebration

City Market typically transforms into a party-like atmosphere at night, so expect the scene to be amplified in preparation for the new year. Enjoy live music, libations, and food as you explore the market’s shops and mingle with Savannahians and tourists alike as you celebrate the end of 2019. The party starts at 9 p.m. and lasts until 1 a.m., and it’s also free to the public. Of course, you’ll have to pay for your drinks and the like.

Up the Cup New Year’s Eve Celebration

New York City may have the ball drop in Times Square, but Savannah has a drop of its own with the Up the Cup celebration on River Street at Wet Willie’s. The celebration, now in its seventh year, features a giant to-go cup which symbolizes the Hostess City’s unique open container policy. The festivities kick off at 5 p.m.

    New Year’s Eve Party Cruise

Wouldn’t it be incredible to ring in 2020 from the Savannah River? Luckily, Savannah Riverboat Cruises has you covered. The cruise lasts three hours, and you can expect entertainment, hors d’oeuvres, party favors, and more! There’s also a dinner cruise and a gala cruise, so get tickets for whichever cruise interests you most.

Tybee Island New Year’s Eve Fireworks

A New Year’s Eve celebration and fireworks go hand-in-hand, and Tybee Island – with its perfect beach backdrop – has the show you’re looking for. With the display being visible from pretty much any part of the island’s beaches, you’re sure to find a nice spot on the shore to enjoy the fireworks with company.

    Foxy New Year’s Eve

If you’re looking for a New Year’s Eve celebration on a bit of a smaller scale, then Foxy Loxy Café fits the bill. The coffee shop located across from the Bull Street Library in the Starland District will have drinks, food, music, fire pits, and a midnight toast to ring in the new year. The party starts at 9:30 p.m.!
