The Wilmington Island Farmers’ Market will host a fundraiser for Armstrong State University’s Chief Information Officer Tim Moody, who survived a hit and run accident as a cyclist on October 19 on Johnny Mercer Boulevard.
Donations will be collected to help the Moody family, who live on Wilmington Island, pay for medical bills. Funds will also be raised via a silent auction featuring a Schwinn bicycle and items from Armstrong State University, Color Geek Salon, Monkey Joe’s, Paula Deen, the YMCA and many more.
The Savannah Bicycle Campaign and the Southeast Georgia Chapter of the Southern Off-Road Bicycle Association will deliver a bike safety talk and offer safety-related activities for kids and adults.
Highlights of this family-friendly event include a kids yoga class with Yogi Palz, a special appearance by the Enchant My Party princesses and performances by the First Baptist Church of the Islands Choir and the Savannah Ballet Theatre & School of Dance.
The market will offer its customary variety of delicious food, including $1 hot dogs, and handcrafted items for purchase from local vendors.
Admission to this special market, co-hosted by Armstrong State University, is free and open to the public. Plenty of parking is available on-site.
