In the up-and-coming Starland District, you’ll discover a culinary collaboration with an innovative twist. After working in renowned Savannah restaurants for over twenty-five years, Chef Johnathan Massey branched out to create Bull Street Taco — a taqueria with the authentic taste of the West Coast.
A partnership with Mike Cournoyer, founder and now co-owner, initiated the renovation of a neglected hair salon. Together, the two spent seven months constructing the unique tables, stand up taco bar, and extensive outdoor patio where customers can enjoy the simple, fresh spread offered by the restaurant.
Inspired by “the simple joy of a great taco,” John and Mike source organic, local produce and make tortillas by hand every day to create tacos with a twist. In addition to traditional carnitas and queso fundido, customers can find signature dishes like roasted mushroom and cauliflower tacos, seasoned and complemented with basil crema, arbol sauce, or pistachio pesto.
