Ring in the new year with the annual Up The Cup New Year’s Eve Celebration on River Street, where guests will be dazzled with a digital light display, a Savannah-style countdown, and a celebratory fireworks display! Or, head to City Market for another rockin’ New Year’s Savannah event complete with live outdoor music!
2016 Savannah Harbor Holiday Series

Staying at one of our downtown Savannah hotels over the holidays and looking for things to do in Savannah during Christmas? Catch a ferry ride across the Savannah River, where you can enjoy daily activities, cheerful performances, and endless holiday surprises during the 2016 Savannah Harbor Holiday Series.
The series kicks off with one of the most spectacular Christmas Savannah events of the season: The Boat Parade of Lights! On Saturday, November 26, head to the Savannah waterfront for an evening featuring a magical parade of boats decorated for the holidays, a tree lighting ceremony, and a beautiful fireworks display.
You won’t want to miss the Savannah Harbor Gingerbread Village Competition, where a very merry assortment of gingerbread houses will be on display at The Westin starting Saturday, November 26 through Friday, December 30.
This year’s series during the Savannah holidays will also include the Charity Equinox Concert on December 14, featuring an unforgettable night of live performances by Jeremy Davis, Clay Johnson, The Fabulous Equinox Orchestra, and many more. Purchase your tickets to enjoy this lively entertainment paired with a three-course dinner, with proceeds benefitting The Empty Stocking Fund.
Christmas on the River

Join in the holiday celebration on River Street in Savannah all weekend long. Enjoy live music and find holiday gifts and stocking stuffers from the arts & crafts vendors at Rousakis Plaza. Plus, experience a one-of-a-kind holiday experience at Savannah’s Lighted Christmas Parade on Saturday, December 3, beginning at 5:30 pm.
Holiday Tour of Homes
December 10 | 11am & 1pm | $40-$75
Experience some of Savannah’s most beautiful homes and museum estates at the 2016 Holiday Tour of Homes. Continuing a tradition dating back to 1974, the Savannah Downtown Neighborhood Association presents a guided tour of eight private homes and two museum houses, as well as a separate evening tour of local inns. With all of the estates and inns decorated festively for the holiday season, this tour is sure to get you in the holiday spirit. It is recommended that you purchase tickets early, as this event frequently sells out.
December Nights & Holiday Lights 2016
November 25 – December 24 | Times Vary | $5-$10
Embark on a self-guided walking tour of the Coastal Georgia Botanical Gardens this holiday season with the December Nights & Holiday Lights 2016. With an impressive six-acre display featuring over 800,000 sparkling lights, this tour combines beautiful displays, lighted scenery, and more. Fun for the whole family guaranteed!

The Savannah Theatre’s annual holiday show, “A Christmas Tradition,” is a signature holiday event in Savannah. Each year, the theatre is transformed into a winter wonderland for a theatrical masterpiece filled with Christmas magic, heart-warming stories, and laughter. Savannah Ice Skating

Skatefest returns to the Savannah Civic Center this holiday season for endless family fun! This annual ice skating event offers guests the opportunity to zip around the festive indoor ice rink.
