SOUNDTRACK SUMMER: THE GRADUATE
Catch the 4K restoration of director Mike Nichol’s Oscar-winning masterpiece that seduces audiences with its crackling wit, depth of emotion, and Simon & Garfunkel’s moody grandeur. The story of an aimless young man (Dustin Hoffman) adrift in a relationship with the older Mrs. Robinson (Anne Bancroft), the impeccably-acted, visually-defiant, cleverly-scripted, musically-driven film perfectly captured the zeitgeist of a generation like no film before, or after. Koo-koo-ka-choo, indeed.
Spend the summer revisiting some of the best scores, iconic needle drops, and most memorable musical moments in film history. Each screening will feature themed surprises like photo booths, concession specials, pre-show trivia, and more, along with the chance to hear the Lucas Theatre’s 1925 Mighty Wurlitzer pipe organ roar! Plan to arrive early to hear the organ’s pre-show performance.
Tickets for the film, part of the Soundtrack Summer series, are $5 for SCAD Card holders, students, seniors, and military, and $8 for the general public. Passes for the full Lucas Soundtrack Summer series are available for $40.
